MCBC PRAYER ITEMS – 10/15/20

Psalm 145:18 “The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.”  

I. KINGDOM CONCERNS 

George Santonia will give an update on their situation in Bagumbong, Caloocan City.

II. PERSONAL CONCERNS

  1. Thanksgiving
    Let us continually thank the Lord for His mercies. Despite our difficult situation, He has kept us alive and has provided for our needs. He has also sustained us spiritually. Let us praise Him for taking care of us.

Additional:

  • Pas. Mike’s swab test result is negative.
  • Sis. Beth and her children arrived safely in Davao. Their swab test results were negative.
  • Tita Luz and her family were kept safe during a flash flood in Cebu last Tuesday.

 2. Frontliners
Let us persevere in praying for our medical frontliners (see the full list here). May the Lord spare them from the infection. Let us pray that they will not lose heart in helping the sick. 

  1. Sick
    Let us pray for our sick brethren: Pas. Alex, Annie, Acel, Brenda, Johnny, Louie, Chippy, Delia, Tina, Edna, and Kobe. Sis. Mel Salazar had a transvaginal ultrasound. Let us pray for a favorable result.  
    Let us pray for our friends and loved ones who are sick:  Mr. Pong, Conrad, Randy, Jun, Ludel, Neal, Amy, Grace, Helen, Marlyn, Sofia, Lola Soledad, Bobot (Pas. Alex’s brother), and others. May their sickness lead them to trust in Christ for their salvation. 
  1. Birthday 
    Randy (October 14) – Prayer requests: 1. Health and safety of my parents and siblings. 2. More opportunities to serve, give praise and worship Jesus.
  1. Employment 
    Let us pray for the unemployed. May God bless their efforts so that they may provide for themselves and their families. Let us also pray for business owners that God will give them the wisdom to maintain their businesses. 
    Let us pray for those who go to their workplaces that the Lord would preserve them from infection. Let us pray for Bro. Carl as he goes to different places due to his work.  
  1. Nation 
    Let us continue to plead to God for the contagion to cease so that things can go back to normal, especially the gathering of His people. Let us also so pray for our leaders as they deal with the current concerns of our country. May God be pleased to save sinners during this difficult time. May the people find their hope in Christ alone.

III. CHURCH CONCERNS 

Preachings

  1. In our Sunday School, we were reminded concerning the wisdom that comes from God. May we reject worldly wisdom and continue to know and apply the word of God.  
    In our first service, we learned about hypocritical judgment. May we be slow when making judgments about others. Let us first examine ourselves before we judge others. Let us also be careful of a hypercritical spirit.  In our second service, we were challenged to have a good testimony. May we desire to encourage other Christians by our godly testimony as we wait upon His word. 
  1. Services
    Let us pray for those who will minister the word of God this Sunday. – – – May the Lord give wisdom in their preparation. Let us also pray that there will be no problems in our live streaming. 
  • Pas. Clyde will teach in Sunday School. 
  • Pas. Rolly will preach in the first service. 
  • Pas. Mike will preach in the second service.  
  1. Online Bible Studies 
    Let us thank God for helping Pas. Mike in his teaching ministry with Jam City church. God’s word was well-received and appreciated by those who attended. Let us pray for the pastors and Bro. Simon as they lead in Bible studies. Let us pray for Sis. Kemi, Sis. Rosanna, and Bro. Carl as they teach in the Sunday School for children. 
  1. Discipline case
    Let us continue to pray for our sister to repent. May she remember the terrible consequences of sin to cause her to return to God.  
  1. Attendance
    Let us pray for the cooperation and safety of those who will be attending the services at church. May God use our adherence to our safety protocols to keep us from the infection. Let us also continue to pray for those who worship at home. May the Lord give us joy in sanctifying His day.
